Hualien

The city of Hualien sits on the east coast of the island of Taiwan, famed for its beautiful coastline. It’s the gateway to Taroko Gorge National Park, one of Taiwan’s most famous sites. The landscape of Taroko Gorge has been formed by the great forces of nature, from typhoons and earthquakes to millions of years of erosion. Today, it is a patchwork of marble gorges, bright blue rivers and pockets of untouched forest dotted with ancient temples, tumbling waterfalls and hidden caves.

Manila

Today, it has become a hub for commerce, business, shopping, dining, culture and luxury hotels. The oldest district, Intramuros, is home to Spanish-era landmarks like Fort Santiago and Manila Cathedral. The city's rich history and vibrant culture make it an attractive destination for visitors.

If you’re interested in history, Manila’s is enticingly rich. The city was founded as a Spanish colony in the 16th century and soon become one of the New World’s main trading ports, earning it the name Pearl of the Orient. Wander the streets of the oldest district, the Intramuros, which covers around 50 blocks and is full of Spanish-era landmarks like Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral and the original walls that protected the city. Across the river, marvel at the ornate façade of the Basilica of San Sebastian, which is built entirely from prefabricated steel panels.

Downtown Manila and Intramuros: Take an immersive tour of the captivating landmarks of Manila, including the Planetarium, the National Museum, San Sebastian Church and Manila City Hall. The tour continues at Old Intramuros. Built by the Spaniards and home of the elite during that long period of Spanish colonization in the Philippines, World War II left the area in ruins. Some of the world’s most vulnerable and endangered animals live here in Borneo, and concerted conservation efforts have worked hard to turn the tide. The Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre is at the heart of the island’s conservation efforts and first began rescuing orphaned orangutans for almost 60 years.

Stretching into the Flores Sea, south of Sulawesi, the Taka Bonerate National Park covers more than half a million hectares and includes an atoll of 28 islands, the third largest coral atoll in the world. Ranging in size from 105-110m², grandeur and style are taken to a whole new level in our Panorama and Grand Panorama Suites.

Suite names and amenities are the same across both Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Eclipse II, however, both have been thoughtfully curated to suit the cruising experience of these ships.

These grand suites include a host of special features and services. Curl up in your lounge with a kindle e-book from your in-suite library and sip your favourite aperitif, personally delivered by your butler. With a premier location on the higher Decks 8 and 9 and an impressive 46-50m2 in size, our opulent Spa Suites provide the most inviting of ultra-luxury retreats. Featuring a separate sleep zone with a four-poster king-size Scenic Slumber Bed, a lounge area as well as a private verandah, they are the perfect retreat after a day of discovery.

Step into the private sanctuary of your Spa Suite and soak in a steaming bath drawn by your butler. Gaze out over your verandah to the vistas beyond and sip on a glass of Champagne – heaven.

Scenic Eclipse I features the signature double-sized Philippe Starck-designed spa bath, while Scenic Eclipse II offers a luxurious circular spa bath overlooking your verandah. Exclusive to these suites, the baths provide the perfect way to rejuvenate after your day of activities.

There are variations between the Spa Suite configurations on Scenic Eclipse I and II, and these distinctions are subject to the respective ship's specifications and design.
