Setting sail in February 2024, Sun Princess is the stunning new addition to the Princess Cruises fleet and the first of the fabulous new Sphere Class. The third ship to hold the “Sun Princess” name, the vessel will be the largest in the Princess lineup, accommodating over four thousand guests. And if you’re considering becoming one of those guests, we’re here to tell you exactly what you can expect from this spectacular liner.
Environmentally Friendly
Climate conscious cruisers will be delighted to hear that Sun Princess will be the first ship of the Princess Cruises fleet to be powered by liquified natural gas. This is one of the cleanest fuels that a cruise ship can use and reduces air emissions significantly. So, when you sail on Sun Princess, you know that you’re part of the movement toward greener cruising.
Accommodation
Sun Princess will deliver not just one but two new classes of accommodation.
Signature Collection
Signature Collection staterooms include access to the exclusive Signature Restaurant, Signature Lounge and Signature Sun Deck. Within the Signature Collection, you’ll find Signature Collection suites and the Sky Suite.
Signature Collection suites contain all the luxuries passengers expect from a suite, including a balcony and separate seating area, plus bonuses like a complimentary mini-bar setup and priority embarkation and disembarkation.
The Signature Sky Suite takes the luxury up even further. Suitable for up to five guests, this suite boasts two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Plus, the spacious seating area has a sofa bed meaning that it can double as a third bedroom.
Reserve Collection
Like the Signature Collection, Reserve Collection guests enjoy exclusive access to a private restaurant.
In the Mini Suites, cruisers enjoy a two flat panel TVs, a balcony and a comfortable seating area- plus a complimentary glass of bubbly on embarkation day. And in a Cabana Mini Suite the amenities are stepped up even further with, as the name suggests, your own private cabana and outdoor furniture.
Other Accommodation
For low-cost cruising, book an interior cabin. These affordable staterooms offer a choice of one queen-sized bed or two twins along with a flat screen TV and a refrigerator. To watch the waves, pick a Premium Oceanview stateroom instead. Deluxe Balcony staterooms are ideal for those wanting to enjoy fresh sea air in privacy.
Princess Cruises are also aware that cruisers all have different needs, which is why Sun Princess also boasts some wonderful wheelchair-accessible staterooms with features like roll-in showers and easy-access wardrobes.
Stand-Out Areas On-Board
The Piazza
Inspired by stylish European town squares, the Piazza exudes suave sophistication. Eat a delicious margherita at Alfredo’s pizzeria, sip a velvety latte at Coffee Currents, or enjoy an Italian-style cocktail at Bellini’s Bar. And for entertainment? Head to Crooner’s Bar to hear some of the finest singers at sea.
The Dome
Inspired by the glorious terraces of Santorini, the Dome is the first structure of its kind to ever be built on a cruise ship. In the day it’s the perfect place for sun-worshipping cruisers to soak up those holiday rays or instead take a splash in the indoor/outdoor pool. In the evenings, aerial performers put on a majestic show, and the pool becomes a stage for some dazzling entertainment.
Destinations
Sun Princess will begin her career with some fabulous Mediterranean sailings over the Spring and Summer of 2024, before gracing the waves of the Caribbean in Autumn.
Her inaugural sailing, a ten-night cruise, will visit stunning locations like Barcelona, Athens and Naples.
